Vote on Election Day

On Election Day, you can only vote at your designated polling place. Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Everyone in line at 8 p.m. gets to vote.

What should I bring to vote?

Be prepared to show your voter identification (required)

You will be asked to provide a photo ID when you vote. Campus-issued voter IDs and many other forms of ID are acceptable. Your Wiscard is not an acceptable form of voter ID.

Be ready to register or re-register (if applicable)

If you’ve never registered to vote or you’ve moved since you last voted — even if you’ve only changed apartments in the same building — you will need to register.

Bring a sample ballot (optional)

Bring a sample ballot or notes with you into the voting booth to help you fill out your ballot. If you vote in person, you can’t take your ballot home to return later, so it’s a good idea to be prepared with a sample ballot.

Voter accessibility

All polling places are required by the Americans with Disabilities Act to provide accommodations.
